In short
This page lists dated changes to carplayscreen.com and to the facts it prints, newest first. An entry is added when the content of a page changes, when numbers are read again from their source, or when a new version of the app we make changes what a page says. Each entry links the pages it changed. The log starts on October 6, 2026.

Added five pages about the site itself: About, Editorial policy and methodology, Glossary, the N5 Labs publisher page and this changelog.
Published four new pages: customizing the CarPlay dashboard, clock and countdown widgets, a picture of your car on the CarPlay screen, and what nine widget apps say is free.
Read the US App Store listings of the nine CarPlay widget apps again and updated the rating counts and averages on the comparison pages.
Read Apple's Shortcuts pages again for the connect sound guide.
Opened every Apple page the guides link and added what was missing: where widget stacks sit, which widgets can be added, how CarPlay widgets differ from Home Screen widgets, the iOS 26 and iOS 27 release dates, video on the CarPlay display in iOS 27, a separate disconnect sound, and two more causes of a missing widget.
Corrected three things about our own app: its car library is described as about 1,100 models, not as a number of cars. Its editor lists nine countdown styles, not seven. Pages no longer say how its widget looks on a CarPlay screen, because we have not checked that yet.
Added Car Play Connect: Auto Sync to the larger apps named beside the comparison, from its US App Store listing, with a table of which look-alike name is which.
Added pictures to the home page and to the ten guides and comparisons. Every one is an illustration made with an image generator, and its caption says so. None is a photo of a real car or of a CarPlay screen. In some, the image generator copied widgets from captures of our app, Car Play Widgets. A real CarPlay screen shows widgets differently, and we have not yet looked at ours on one.
State of the app on this date: the live App Store version of Car Play Widgets: Dashboard is 1.5.
How does this log work?
A date here matches the Updated date on the page that changed, and the date in the sitemap. We do not change a date when nothing changed. The rules are in the editorial policy.
